Development Control deals with the processing of planning applications, taking account of borough policies and briefs, government guidance and the individual merits of each scheme, in order to control development in the Borough in the public interest. The Enforcement Service investigates complaints about building work, changes of use of buildings and land and monitors planning conditions.

Submit a planning application
You can submit a planning application electronically to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council. Use this link to the Planning Portal, which also enables you to pay your fee online.

Details of all planning applications since 1998 are available through our Public Access site. This includes plans for applications received since 2006.

NOTE: Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications will be able to be viewed within 3 working days of receipt of the application. If none are displayed at the time, you may wish to try a few days later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and associated documents at the council's offices. 

All applications received since 2001 are also available to view via a map.
