Introduction
Hinckley & Bosworth Benefits Service
Hinckley and Bosworth Benefits Help Desk

The Hinckley and Bosworth Benefit Service is part of the Finance & ICT Department based in the Main Council Offices at Argents Mead, Hinckley.

The Service is responsible for the administration and payment of Council Tax Benefit, Second Adult Rebate and Housing Benefit for both private rented and Local Authority tenants.

The Government sets the rules for these benefits. Local councils have run these Government benefit schemes since 1988. Council Tax Benefit was introduced in 1993.

The Benefits Service employs 28 staff, to carry out Assessments, Customer Services and Investigations.

Our team is committed to providing an excellent customer service ensuring all enquiries are dealt with promptly and accurately.  All Benefit matters are dealt with in the strictest of confidence.

In the Hinckley and Bosworth area there are approximately 4690 people receiving Council Tax Benefit, 1110 tenants in the private sector receiving Housing Benefit and 1900 Local Authority tenants receiving Housing Benefit.

Many people do not receive the help that they are entitled to, so please contact our team about claiming.
