Councillors' allowances and expenses
Councillors are entitled to receive an allowance for the work they do, and an additional payment for any special responsibilities that they may have. They can also claim expenses and travel costs whilst on approved duties. You can view details of our Members’ Allowance scheme.
The Independent Remuneration Panel on Members' Allowances met on 5 November 2014 and made recommendations to Council for a new scheme of allowances to commence following the local elections in May 2015. The recommendations were agreed by Council in July 2015.
