Textiles and shoes
The kerbside service
The council has provided kerbside collections of textiles since 2003.
The bags for textiles are red and see-through. When you put a red bag out for collection, the crew will leave you a new bag for next time. Printed on the bags will be instructions, a list of suitable items and I & G Cohen's details, as well as the Palm Recycling name.
These textile bags can be used as and when they are needed. The collection day is the same as for all your recycling and is shown as a blue square on your collection calendar.
Suitable items include:
- Clothes
- Shoes (in pairs)
- Household linens such as duvet covers
- Pillowcases
- Towels and tea towels
- Curtains
- Handbags and belts
Please note that duvets and pillows are not suitable. Please also make sure all items are clean and kept dry.
All residents can take part in the fortnightly kerbside recycling collections. Further details on the recycling just got easier pages and also in the frequently asked questions.
If in doubt, then please phone us and find out.
