Earl Shilton Community House
Welcome to Earl Shilton Community House
The Community House Project was developed through the Community Safety Partnership. It was established due to the high levels of crime and disorder, anti-social behaviour and social exclusion suffered by the residents of Earl Shilton. The project was launched in September 2001 and has proved very successful in supporting and helping its local community and bringing a sense of pride back into the area.
The aim of the project is to work with local residents and young people, encouraging them to become involved in community projects and activities, helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and working together to encourage a sense of pride back into the area.
The Community House provides local residents, tenants and young people with direct access to public services including the Police, Housing Officers, Youth Offending Team, Connexions, Age Concern and Voluntary Action. It runs several projects including basic skills classes, diversionary activities for young people in school holidays, after-school youth clubs and art classes. It also offers advice relating to sexual health and distributes condoms and offers pregnancy testing in a responsible and caring environment. The Town Council are also based in the house.
Projects
As well as the activities run from the house we can also assist in setting up tenant and resident groups and neighbourhood watch schemes - or any project you may want some help with.
Whether you require a small meeting room, calling in for a coffee and chat or would like some advice, help with filling in forms or access to other agencies we offer a 'One-Stop-Shop' service to all who visit.
