Jogging - the benefits to health
Hinckley & Bosworth Boroughs Council's Active Together team are proud to announce our district's jogging groups. These groups are for beginners looking to start running, individuals wanting to increase their fitness levels, or people aiming to join their local running club.
Most new runners start out using a run/walk technique because they don't have the endurance or fitness to run for extended periods of time. There’s no need to worry about what level you’re at, as you can work at your own intensity.
Regular running allows you to keep fit whilst meeting new friends and not only that, it’s versatile and inexpensive too. Running is also good for the following:
- Give you more energy
- Reduce stress, helping you to sleep better
- Keeps your heart strong
- Help to manage your weight
- Help to maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints
- It's good for your mind
- You can run to raise money for charity
