Shared ownership
The council owns properties which are available for rent only.
Housing associations, now known as registered providers, have properties that are available for shared ownership. This means that you can buy a percentage (25%, 50% or 75%) of the property, either by mortgage or cash, and pay rent on the remaining amount.
