Our commitment
The council is committed to reducing the amount of waste which is sent to landfill. We aim to encourage residents to:
- Reduce the amount of waste they produce
- Reuse products
- Recycle waste where possible
In Leicestershire, the county, district and borough councils work together as the Leicestershire Waste Partnership (LWP) (lesswaste.org.uk) one of the biggest priorities is to reduce the amount of rubbish we send to landfill. The council (and all the other Leicestershire councils) jointly adopted the Leicestershire Resources and Waste strategy 2022 to 2025 in Spring 2023.
