Supported and sheltered housing

Find out about sheltered housing

sheltered housingSheltered housing provides good, comfortable living conditions where tenants live independently within their own homes. It has the comfort and security of knowing someone is available to call in the case of an emergency. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has 11 sheltered schemes where a scheme manager is employed to manage the scheme.

Each scheme is linked to a two-way communication system, with a point of call in all rooms. This allows the scheme manager to speak directly to the tenant and vice versa. All tenants can be secure in the knowledge that should they fall ill or have an accident an experienced member of staff is on call 24-hours a day. They can be contacted either through the scheme manager or an operator at the Control Centre.

Further information on sheltered and supported housing is available on the County Council website. Please see Sheltered and supported housing
