Comment on a planning application

What happens after the consultation period

View pages in this section

Applications are decided either by the planning committee or by the Head of Planning through delegated powers.

For example:

  • Where there have been no more than five objections (excluding parish council comments) which do not conflict with policy, these can usually be decided by the Head of Planning (Community Direction) under powers of delegation.
  • Where applications are determined by Planning Committee. The case officer prepares a written report for the Planning Committee which explains the proposal. He/she will report any comments received, evaluate the issues raised and recommend a decision with reasons.

The decision is then issued.
