Public health - cooling tower notification

Notification summary

If you have any cooling tower or evaporative condensers (notifiable devices) in non-domestic premises, then the person in control of that premises must notify this council under the notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.

The purpose of this notification is to identify potential areas that would give rise to spread of infectious disease, for example legionella, and to ensure preventative measures are taken to eliminate the risk of such infection arising to employees and the public.

This council is responsible for keeping a public register of all notifications received.
