Planning Applications (Development Control)
Planning Application Process What happens to my application? This process flow demonstrates the steps and time frames involved for a Planning Application once submitted toHinckleyand Bosworth Borough Council. Please note if you have employed an agent you will receive nothing directly from us. All correspondence, including decision notices, will be sent your agent who should keep you updated on the application. We will try to deal with you application within 8 weeks. Some applications may take longer. We publish a weekly list of applications received. The Consultation Process Note: Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications will be available for viewing within 3 working days of receipt. General information regarding commenting on planning application is available from the Planning Portal here. Making the Decision Most applications where there have been no more than five objections (Excluding Parish Council comments) and which do not conflict with policy can usually be decided by the Head Development and Culture under powers of delegation by the Planning Committee. Where applications are to be determined by Planning Committee, the case officer prepares a written report which will explain the proposal; report any comments received; evaluate the issues raised; and recommend a decision with reasons. The report and any correspondence referred to may be inspected during the seven days before the meeting, available online within the Agendas section of this site. Any written comments received after the publication of the agenda are presented to members at the Committee in the form of a list of Late Items. You may attend the meeting. If you wish to speak at the meeting, this must be arranged in advance. Contact either Planning Services or Democratic Services for further information. The Committee may not agree with the recommendation and reach a different decision. In this instance conditions or reasons for refusal will need to be approved before a decision is issued and some delay will occur. Alternatively, members may decide to defer any decision and visit the site. You will be advised of the arrangements beforehand.
Details of decisions are available online.
