Direct Debits

The easiest, safest and most convenient way of paying your Council Tax is by Direct Debit.

If you do not already pay by Direct Debit, you can fill in a mandate by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, you can telephone the Customer Contact Centre on 01455 238141 during normal working hours and provide your bank or building society details i.e. account name, number and sort-code and (subject to certain safeguards) be immediately set up for this payment option without completing any paperwork.

Direct debiting is now used throughout the UK for millions of payments every day. It is reliable, convenient, efficient and takes the worry out of regular bill paying. You can pay annually, half yearly or monthly and with effect from 1 April 2007, you have the following choice of payment dates, the 1st; 15th or 28th. In a full year the monthly instalments will normally be from April to January, but this may be adjusted for late applications.

To start paying by Direct Debit either telephone the offices on 01455 238141 and provide your bank/building society details over the phone or simply just request, complete and return one simple instruction and we will advise your bank or building society to set up the arrangement. Payments will continue until you decide to cancel the instruction with your bank.

If you wish you may download a Direct Debit mandate. Simply print the form off, complete (preferably in blue ink) and return it to us.
