The Site Allocations & Generic Development Control Policies Development Plan Document

Public Consultation on the document has now closed.

Between 9 February – 6 April 2009 the council consulted on a document known as the Site Allocations & Development Control Policies Development Plan Document (DPD) (and corresponding Sustainability Appraisal) that will form part of the Local Development Framework. The Local Development Framework is a folder of planning documents that will replace the existing Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Local Plan.

The Site Allocations document puts forward preferred options for housing, gypsy and traveller accommodation, employment, retail, recreation/open space, nature conservation and other land uses including the provision of community facilities and amenities. It also contains policies relating to proposals that require site specific conditions such as design guidance, conservation and protection of open spaces through the generic development control policies which will be used in the day-to-day assessment of planning applications.

This document did not present the final allocations of land for future development, but options for professional bodies, departments and members of the public to consider, giving them the opportunity to express their views and offer alternative suggestions.

These documents are free to view online at the bottom of this page or alternatively, CD-Roms containing the document are available free of charge when requested from the Strategy & Regeneration Department. Hard copies of the document will incur a fee of £25.00 (including postage).

How we asked you to get Involved?
We invited supporting and objecting comments from professional bodies and the public to any of the sites and policies contained within the document, as well as giving the opportunity to put forward alternative sites for the council to consider.

Please note: all duly made representations that have been submitted will be available to view in due course. The comments and any identifying information in responses will not remain confidential. The council reserves the right to discount any comments which are offensive and/or racially discriminatory and will only take account of concerns regarding planning matters.

Please be aware that for comments to be duly made and considered as a representation to the Site Allocations and Development Control Policies Development Plan Document the representation must have been received during the public consultation period as set out above. This is inline with The Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 Paragraph 28, (2) (a).
