Local Strategic Partnership

Hinckley & Bosworth Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) bring together representatives from different organisations and sections of the community to improve the borough as a place to live and work. The members of the LSP’s board are:

  • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council - represented by the Council Leader and Deputy Chief Executive
  • Leicestershire County Council - represented by a Cabinet Member and the Assistant Chief Executive
  • Leicestershire Constabulary - represented by the Commander and the Partnerships Manager for the South Area of Leicestershire
  • Leicestershire County and Rutland Primary Care Trust - represented by the Chief Executive and the Director of Public Health
  • Parish and Town Councils - represented by the Chair of the Hinckley & Bosworth branch of the Association of Parish and Local Councils
  • Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups - represented by the Chief Executive and a trustee of Voluntary Action Hinckley & Bosworth (Voluntary Action acts as an ‘umbrella’ organisation to represent the views of the wider voluntary and community sector)
  • Businesses - retail and commercial firms are represented by the Chair of Hinckley Town Centre Partnership, and other sectors are separately represented. The current representative is from Mexboro Properties
  • Hinckley & Bosworth Community Safety Partnership - represented by the Chair of the Partnership.

Each year the LSP agrees a focused work programme to ensure progress is made against the overall priorities in Hinckley & Bosworth's Community Plan. The LSP Action Plan 2007-2008 is available to download.

An integral part of the LSP's work programme for 2007 was to ensure the ongoing review of its performance, progress and impact in relation to the delivery of the overall priorities presented in the Community Plan. Therefore in December 2007 the partners invited the Improvement and Development Agency to undertake an independent review of the LSP. As a result, the LSP agreed to concentrate its efforts and resources on four LSP Strategic Priorities, where it feels it can add most value in tackling some of the most challenging issues facing the borough.
