Nappies - What's the choice and why?

You may think that using disposables is convenient, but have you thought about the environmental effects?

Disposable facts: 95 disposable nappies are thrown into landfill sites every second of every day in the UK. In just one day that will total over eight million which will result in a staggering three billion in just one year in the UK.

Our aim is to give parents an informed choice about alternatives to disposable nappies so that they can help to reduce the burden these place on our environment. The Borough Council are running free events as follows:

Nappuccinos: Nappuccinos are an informal meeting where parents and parents to be can find out more about Real Nappies. Free tea and coffee is available and someone from the Leicestershire Real Nappy Network will be available to answer any questions you may have about Real Nappies. Why not drop in to find out more about Real Nappies or just for a coffee and a chat with other Real Nappy fans.

Keep an eye on the website and local press for details of  events coming up in the borough in 2010

Remember, there are local advisers who can provide a home demonstration visit if this is more convenient. To find out more then follow the website link below. Alternatively, telephone Jane Green or Charlotte Long on 01455 238141.

The website is split into five sections:

  • Nappies - real or disposable
  • Events
  • £30 cash back offer
  • Contact details
  • Local baby changing facilities
