 Hinckley & Bosworth Tourism Partnership working with Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire Promotions, to enhance tourism across the borough. Hinckley & Bosworth Tourism Partnership is a working group of tourism businesses, Leicestershire Promotions, Leicestershire County Council and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. The partnership is implementing a new plan aimed at developing tourism and attracting more visitors to the area. The Chairman of Hinckley & Bosworth Tourism Partnership is Mr Steve Wegerif. This quarterly newsletter brings you details of activities, news and useful contacts relevant for all tourism businesses within the area. Hinckley & Bosworth Visitor Guide (PDF, 1094 Kb) The Hinckley & Bosworth Visitor Guide has now been launched, which is full of useful information about places to see and where to stay in the borough. Few areas in the UK can boast the wealth of tourism diversity which the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth can offer - something for everyone, whatever their age, interests and tastes. Encompassing 114 square miles, the beautiful surrounding countryside with its many pretty villages contains much to see and do, as well as providing the perfect locations for walking, cycling or just exploring at leisure. The visitor guide is available from the Council Offices and at libraries, tourist attractions, tourist information centres and accommodation providers throughout the borough and beyond. Tourism and the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games The 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games provide the UK's tourism industry with its biggest opportunity in recent years.
DCMS, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, has now launched 'Winning: A Tourism Strategy for 2012 and beyond' following the widest-ever consultation of the tourism sector. The strategy was launched on 17 September 2007 by Secretary of State, James Purnell, and the Minister for Tourism, Margaret Hodge.
