Planning Policy is responsible for the Local Plan, which provides policies to guide and encourage future development in the Borough. However, the Local Plan is being replaced by a Local Development Framework.

Planning Policy is also responsible for Development Plan Documents, Supplementary Planning Documents, monitoring of the implementation of policy guidance and measures to protect and improve the environment.
