Conservation & Heritage

There are 330 Listed Buildings and 26 Conservation Areas within the Borough. The Conservation Officer is responsible for policy matters relating to Conservation Areas e.g. their designation, boundaries, character to be protected and controls.

The Conservation Officer can also advise on proposed repairs and alterations, new development within Conservation Areas or affecting listed buildings, sources of materials, craftsmen and specialists.
