Alchemy in the spotlight at art exhibition
Published Friday, 17 March 2017
AN art exhibition exploring the themes of alchemy and perception is being staged at Hinckley's Atkins Gallery later this month.
The exhibition opens on Saturday 25 March and will showcase the work of 11 artists and art enthusiasts from a Rugby-based group called Alchemy.
Their show will explore the way in which raw materials are transformed through alchemy, as well as exploring perceptions in news media and history about the human condition.
The members are versatile in their approaches and the collection will include paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour, lino prints, mono-prints, collage and sculpture in both ceramic and resin with works available to purchase.
There will also be an opportunity to meet the artists every Friday and Saturday between 10am and 2pm, until the exhibition closes on Saturday 22 April.
The Atkins Gallery and Café Español is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.30pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2.30pm.
