Artists 'Bouncing Back' after fire

An EXHIBITION featuring work from a group of artists who are 'Bouncing Back' after their artwork and equipment was destroyed in an arson attack, is being staged in Hinckley's Atkins Gallery this month
The work that is going on display from 11 to 25 November has been created by the artists in response to the loss they suffered 18 months ago when fire swept through a gallery at Malt Kiln Farm in Stretton-under-Fosse. The blaze destroyed not only their work, but also their easels, display boards and other equipment.
Undaunted, the artists - Michelle Leche, Terry Hartshorn, Paul Percival, Jackie Ward, and Janet Watson - have put together a new collection for their show at the Atkins Gallery, which speaks of a new beginning, new ideas and offers a view of an exciting future.
Visitors to the exhibition can meet the artists in person on Saturday 18 November to learn more about their reaction to the fire and purchase merchandise that accompanies the artwork.
The ‘meet the artists’ event will take place during the Christmas Gift Fair at the Atkins Gallery, which is free to enter and is open from 10am to 4pm.
The Atkins Gallery is open from Monday to Friday (10am to 4pm). For more information on the Atkins Gallery please call 01455 247070 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Along with the gallery at Malt Kiln Farm, the adjacent farm shop and cafe were also destroyed in the fire, but all have now reopened.
