General election 12 December 2019

About the election

Elections for the UK Parliament are scheduled to take place on Thursday 12 December 2019. Both the Bosworth and Charnwood constituencies will be contested.

If you are eligible to vote and you are already on the Register of Electors in Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, you do not need to re-register for these elections.

The deadline for applying to register to vote in these elections is 26 November 2019.

If you are unable to get to your polling station on 12 December 2019, there are different options available to you in order for you to cast your vote:

By post

The deadline to apply is the 26 November. This is also the deadline to cancel or make any changes to an existing postal vote.

Postal vote applications received prior to the 6 November will be sent on 25 November 2019. Anyone who sends in their postal vote after this date will be sent their postal vote on the 3 December 2019.

By proxy

The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is the 4 December. This is also the deadline to cancel or make any changes to an existing proxy vote. Please note if you have a postal proxy, the deadline to cancel or amend this would be the 26 November.
