About the role of Administration Assistant - Part Time at Hinckley BID

Administration Assistant, part time (24 hours a week, hours to suit Mon to Fri) 

Rate of pay £14.00ph (self-employed basis)

20.5 days paid holiday including bank holidays

Free parking on site

Applications are invited for this part time Administration Assistant role within a small friendly team in Hinckley Town Centre. The Hinckley BID (Business Improvement District) has been in Hinckley for the past 14 years and is a not-for-profit organisation working hard to showcase and assist our 400 plus Hinckley Town Centre member businesses. Hinckley BID aims to encourage a sense of local pride, gain the support of the local community to 'Keep Business Local' and encourage local trade within the wider business community, through some well-established town-centre events and other footfall attracting initiatives. 

Daily duties

  • Carrying out administrative duties including filing, copying, scanning, franking
  • Liaising with BID Members 
  • Answering telephone calls and logging appropriately 
  • Greeting and assisting visitors at the BID office
  • Maintaining the BID calendar 
  • Monitoring consumable levels and ordering office supplies 
  • Being available to help the BID Event Manager with BID Events 
  • Maintaining our Loyalty Card database, processing applications and sending welcome packs 
  • Maintaining the Prize Winner’s database, liaising with prize winners, purchasing prizes locally where directed and organising the collection of the prizes
  • Providing general administrative support

Key skills – essential 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures 
  • Good IT skills to include Word, Excel, MS outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team

Desirable skills 

  • Knowledge of basic book-keeping and experience of Xero accounting platform 
  • Full driving license 
  • Experience in the use of social media 
  • Minute taking
