Did you know that thoroughly washing your hands can significantly reduce the spread of germs?
We all like to think that we are washing our hands well but that may not be the case. Effective hand washing is key in the battle against the spread of bacteria and viruses such as food poisoning and swine flu.
Many infections are spread by germs that we come into contact with indirectly for example:
- Touching handles (for example, doors and fridges)
- Cleaning cloths
- Light switches
Our hands touch many surfaces throughout the course of our everyday lives. This makes them the perfect vehicle to transport germs to our nose, mouths and eyes which can then get into our bodies.
