Homeless family hostel
We have a hostel provision for up to 35 families who are homeless. The temporary accommodation consists of individual rooms which can be let on a single or multiple basis (depending on the size of the family).
Most of the rooms are unfurnished, although it may be possible to loan some emergency items. There are four furnished rooms which are for emergency use only. The accommodation is on a licence agreement and residents also receive a copy of the hostel's regulations for reference in the welcome pack. The rent is payable weekly (licence fee) and there is an amenities charge that includes washing and drying facilities and storage heating.
The hostel has a a Deputy Accommodation Officer who has a caretaking role for the building and can signpost enquiries from residents to their Housing Options officer to be dealt with.
Access to the hostel is arranged through the drop-in surgeries with the Housing Options Team or through the out-of-hours duty officer.
