What was it all about?

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) announced proposals to scrap every borough and district council, including Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC), in favour of a unitary council. This single enlarged council would be responsible for the decision making in the whole of Leicestershire and a town council could be introduced in Hinckley which would assist with some local services. 

LCC's proposals would mean that local services which we provide, such as housing, planning, environmental protection, local events, and bin collections could be lost and the maintenance of parks and open spaces would fall to the new Hinckley town council.

We wanted to know what you thought about these proposals.
