Commissioning the voluntary and community sector (VCS)
Overview
The Rural Community Council (RCC) is commissioned by us to act as the lead Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Organisation for the borough, overseeing and co-ordinating provision and support available to the local VCS community. Locally this is known as the Hinckley & Bosworth VCS Partnership.
The Borough Council provides funding annually through the partnership, and each year VCS organisations are invited to bid for a share of funding, to help support the delivery of VCS projects in the community. We aim to keep the application process as straightforward as possible.
In addition, there is a regular free VCS forum bringing together VCS organisations large and small, to discuss topical issues of most importance to the VCS. It’s a place to meet up with others, share ideas, and collaborate with other VCS groups to strengthen and sustain local networks.
To sign up to the VCS network and receive information regarding the latest news, grants, upcoming events and training by visiting HBBC VCS Partnership (ruralcc.org.uk) or emailing the team on HinckleyVCS@ruralcc.org.uk.
