Under the Local Government Transparency Code 2015, we will annually publish details on counter fraud work within our borough. We have a joint Revenues and Benefits team which incorporates three different councils:

  • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
  • North West Leicestershire District Council
  • Harborough District Council

Number of occasions we have used powers under the Prevention of Social Housing Fund:

  • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council: 0
  • North West Leicestershire District Council: 0
  • Harborough District Council: 0

Or similar powers - Social Security Fraud Act 2001 (SSFA)  and Council Tax Reduction Scheme (CTRS):

  • Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council: 52 plus National Anti Fraud Network (NAFN)
  • North West Leicestershire District Council: 24 plus NAFN
  • Harborough District Council: 27 plus NAFN
  • Total - 103
