Regulation 19 (Pre-submission) Local Plan Consultation 2026

The Local Plan Review

The Hinckley and Bosworth Local Plan was published at Regulation 19 (Pre‑submission) publication stage.

Formal representations were invited from 12 noon on Friday 7 August and ran until 5pm on Monday 21 September.

What was it about? 

The Local Plan Review, for the Regulation 19 Local Plan was a full pre-submission document that was being consulted on prior to the submission to the Secretary of State later this year. 

During the Regulation 19 publication stage of the Local Plan Review, the consultation focused on whether the Local Plan documentation is sound and legally compliant.

Interested parties were able to submit representation(s) on the Local Plan using:

• Post/delivery via: Planning Policy, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, Hinckley Hub, Rugby Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 0FR

Responses submitted by the above alternatives methods were accepted either as free-form written representation(s) or by completing and returning a downloadable Word version of the response form.

Your name and comments will be published. Contact details will be stored securely and used only for consultation purposes. 

The deadline for representations was 5pm on Monday 21 September 2026.

Officers were available to answer questions about the Local Plan and explain the publication process at several drop-in sessions across the borough:

• Groby Library, Leicester Road, Groby, LE6 0DQ - Thursday 27 August - 4pm -7pm
• Sibson Village Hall, Sheepy Road, Sibson, CV13 6LE - Thursday 3 September - 4pm -7pm
• The Atkins Building, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley, LE10 1QU - Wednesday 16 September - 4pm - 7pm

These drop-in sessions were intended to provide an opportunity to chat with officers, who were able to offer clarification on the content of the Plan and signpost how to make a formal representation.
