Support with food
What support can I get for myself and my pets?
If you are finding it difficult to pay for food, there are organisations available to help:
- Food banks – provide food, as well as essential household items, if you are struggling to put food on the table. You will need a voucher issued by an agency such as the Citizens Advice, Housing Support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services and some local charities. Call 0300 3302111 to speak to Leicestershire Citizen’s Advice who will be able to issue a voucher if necessary, or call the free national helpline - Help through Hardship - on 0808 2082138.
