About the payment
Hinckley and Bosworth was placed in Tier (Very-High) restrictions when we left national lockdown restrictions on 2 December 2020, ordering certain businesses and venues to close or restrict how they provide goods and services.
Affected businesses can apply for a fixed grant, based on the rateable value of the premises, which must be for each of the 14 day periods they are forced to close under Tier 3 restrictions. Currently:
- Period 1: 2 December to 16 December
- Period 2: 17 December to 30 December
If you have not yet made an application, please apply under periods 1 and 2, and if you have made a successful application for a grant under period 1, you are now invited to able to apply for a period 2 grant.
Please ensure that you apply for the correct period(s) under the local schemes section.
How to apply
Applications are now open for the local restrictions support grant (LRSG-closed) (Tier 3 restrictions payments)
The LRSG-closed scheme aims to help hospitality businesses including pubs, restaurants, cafes and social clubs as well as hotels, B&B’s, guest houses, indoor entertainment and visitor attractions that were told to close to the public from the start of the national restrictions on 5 November and then remain closed from 2 December under the tier three restrictions.
Those businesses can now apply for a further fixed grant of £667, £1,000 or £1,500 for each 14 day tier three closure period that began on 2 December, with the grant amount depending on the rateable value of the premises.
The grant will be based on the rateable value of the property on the first full day of local restrictions. Those premises with a rateable value of £15,000 and under are eligible for £667, premises from £15,000 to £51,000 are eligible for £1,000 and premises with a rateable value of £51,000 and over are eligible for £1,500 for each 14 days qualifying period.
Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council is distributing the grants according to a strict national eligibility criteria, and is encouraging all eligible businesses to apply now:
For severely affected businesses that do not have a rateable value or those that are not required to close but are unable to continue operating due to social distancing rules a separate discretionary grant scheme, known as the local restrictions support grant (open) will also be available shortly: The latest information on the local restrictions support grant
Additionally, the borough council has also opened applications for the Christmas support payment for wet-led pubs. This one-off cash grant of £1,000 supports pubs that predominantly serve alcohol rather than provide food and have been severely impacted over the festive season due to tier two or three restrictions.
