Barwell Community House

Welcome to Barwell Community House

The aim of the Barwell Community House is to work with local residents and young people, encouraging them to become involved in community projects and activities. It also helps to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour by encouraging residents to take a sense of pride in the area.

The community house provides direct access to public services, including police, housing officers, adult education, the Youth Offending Team, Age Concern, Voluntary Action and Local Area Co-ordination.

There are several groups led by volunteers and staff, including chit 'n' chat, a colouring/mindfulness group, an adult craft group, a wellbeing group, kids crafts after school club and a gardening group (which includes a tool share scheme for residents).

During school holidays, diversionary activities for young people take place. Family trips and adult trips are also available throughout the year.

As well as the activities that run from the house, there is also assistance in setting up tenant and resident groups and neighbourhood watch schemes, or any project residents may need help with.

Whether users require a small meeting room, are calling in for a coffee and chat, would like some advice and help with filling in forms, or access to other agencies, the community house offers a 'one-stop-shop' service to all who visit.
