How to recycle your phone
Thousands of unwanted phones are thrown away each year; but they don't need to end up in landfill sites. There is a choice and it's easy.
The Borough Council provides two locations for the recycling of small electrical items. The locations are:
- Burbage: Millenium Hall on Britannia Road
- Desford: Bosworth College, Leicester Lane (car park area near the swimming pool)
Look for the pink recycling banks in the car parks.
Alternatively, there are mobile phone collection points located at all 14 recycling and household waste sites (leicestershire.gov.uk) managed by Leicestershire County Council. It is important to donate the phone and charger together as many of the phones will be re-used. Just remove your SIM card before donating the phone.
