Music concerts return to the Mead

A FULL and varied programme of music will take place in the bandstand at Argents Mead, Hinckley throughout the summer, including some new and original acts.
The season opens on 10 May and continues until 16 August. All the performances will take place on Saturday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm with a short interval in the middle and all performances are free of charge.
July is Summer Festival month, with a performance every Saturday of the month.
Ian Daniels, Chair of the Hinckley Town Centre Partnership, said:
“I know that people look forward to these concerts each summer and this looks like another great line up. I’m sure it will bring even more people into the town”.
The full line up is given below:
10 May - Free Spirit Gospel Choir perform traditional gospel standards and modern inspirational music.
24 May - Rena and the Renegades perform rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm & blues from the 50s to the 90s.
7 June - Old Joe's Ramblers perform country, folk, ceilidh and skiffle.
21 June - Faded Vision, a local four piece band, perform rock and alternative.
5 July - Out of Gas perform 50s, 60s and 70s foot-tapping covers.
12 July - Johnnie Eisenhower's Phoenix Blues Band perform rock and blues covers.
19 July - DMS, an acoustic trio playing folk/pop arrangements of rock songs.
26 July - Jessie and Wayne, a local acoustic duo perform popular covers.
2 August - Peter Crebbin and his Cool Swing Band, a nine piece jazz and swing band perform all genres of music.
16 August - Covernote, a popular covers band with brass section and female vocalist.
