Welcome to Barwell Community House
The aim of the Barwell Community House is to work with local residents and young people, encouraging them to become involved in community projects and activities, helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and working together to encourage a sense of pride back into the area.
The community house provides local residents, tenants and young people with direct access to public services including police, housing officers, adult education, the Youth Offending Team, Age Concern, Voluntary Action and Local Area Co-ordination.
There are several groups led by volunteers and staff which include chit 'n' chat, knutty knitters, mindfulness and wellbeing group, kids krafts after school club, gardening group (which includes a tool share scheme for residents), carers' group and digital champion workshops with Age UK.
During school holidays diversionary activities for young people take place. Family trips and adult trips are also available throughout the year.
As well as the activities that run from the house, we can also assist in setting up tenant and resident groups and neighbourhood watch schemes, or any project you may want some help with.
Whether you require a small meeting room, are calling in for a coffee and chat, would like some advice, help with filling in forms or access to other agencies we offer a 'one-stop-shop' service to all who visit.
Barwell Community House produces newsletters on a regular basis. If you would like a copy of the latest newsletter, please call 01455 844884.
