Mr Timothy Jones independently examined the draft Bagworth, Thornton and Stanton Under Bardon Neighbourhood Plan. The Examination commenced on Friday, 5 September 2025, and closed on 1 June 2026.

Regulation 18 Decision and proceeding to referendum
As required by the neighbourhood planning regulations, a decision statement (Regulation 18) has been published which outlines what action the Borough Council must take in response to the recommendations made by the Independent Examiner, and the next steps as the plan proceeds to referendum. The decision was made by Director for Community & Development Services, in consultation with the ward members for the area and the Executive Member for Planning, as per the council's constitution.

The referendum is scheduled for Thursday 17 September. More information can be found on the current elections page
