Grass cutting

Overview

Leicestershire County Council carries out the majority of grass cutting in the borough. We, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, however look after some of the parks. Parish and town councils arrange their own grass cutting and sometimes they ask us to cut the grass on their behalf. Therefore, you will often see our employees cutting the grass in the whole borough.

Roads

Leicestershire County Council cuts the grass on publically maintained highways (adopted highways) in the following locations:

  • Grass verges
  • Roundabouts
  • Central reservations

For further information visit Leicestershire County Council's grass cutting schedule (leicestershire.gov.uk).

Highways not publically owned (unadopted highways) are maintained by the landowner. More about highway adoption status (leicestershire.gov.uk)

Weed spraying and hedge cutting

As part of their road maintenance schedule, Leicestershire County Council also carries out weed spraying and hedge cutting.
