Burbage Common activities and special events

Activities 2018

The following environmental activities for children will be taking place at Burbage Common during the school holidays:

School summer holidays

All activities below will take place between 10:30am and 12:30pm:

  • 18 July – Butterflies - Learn how to identify common butterflies, and make one from willow. Make a butterfly feeder
  • 25 July – Birds - Make a nest from clay and twigs and create a bird mask
  • 1 August – Sticks - Use your imagination and creativity to make things from sticks. Learn how to use tools safely to shape them, then decorate them how you like
  • 6 August – Ponds - Take part in pond dipping and find out about life under water. Create watery art to take home
  • 22 August – Summer Colour - Discover how to create paints and dyes from natural materials, then use them with paper and cloth to create pictures and patterns

The activities are open to children between five and 12 years of age (children must be accompanied by an adult). Cost £3.50 per child per session.
