Digital Leicestershire Broadband

Digital Leicestershire is a programme which delivers coverage of digital services across Leicestershire. Since their Superfast Leicestershire | Leicestershire County Council (leicestershire.gov.uk) project, we have access to much faster and more reliable service, with coverage which has risen to 99.2% across the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth. 

The delivery of gigabit-capable, full-fibre broadband across our borough has since further advanced by the installation of 13 sites which enable this technology. These sites include a number of different schools and libraries. To find out more, please visit Project Gigahubs (leicestershire.gov.uk)

Currently, building still continues as part of Project Gigabit. Project Gigabit (gov.uk) is the UK Government’s £5 billion programme to bring gigabit-capable broadband to homes and businesses in hard-to-reach areas. It targets locations not covered by commercial broadband plans – mostly rural and remote communities that risk being left behind.
