About the fund

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) provided funding for local investment by March 2026.

The fund aimed to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by:

  • Investing in communities and place
  • Supporting local business, and people and skills

Businesses, organisations and communities in Hinckley and Bosworth have benefitted from and additional £850,000 of UKSPF funding, following the council’s successful delivery of the £2.6m 2022-25 scheme.

The UK Shared prosperity has supported a range of projects across the borough, including:

  • Regeneration projects
  • Tourism and visitor initiatives
  • Business and community grants
  • Town centre public realm and infrastructure improvement
  • Energy efficiency schemes
  • Training and employment support

In addition to capital investment, the Hinckley and Bosworth UKSPF Year 4 funded scheme has safeguarded officer posts to continue to deliver projects in year four.

In addition, to the core UKSPF £850,000 funding, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council was awarded a further £120,261 of Rural England Prosperity Funding (REPF). The REPF capital-only funding continued to deliver a highly successful grant scheme that has supports local businesses and organisations.

Some of the projects that benefited from Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council core UKSPF investment:

  • Business prosperity grants – local business grant funded to deliver a range of projects including solar panels, specialist equipment to improve production and diversification, energy efficiency and property improvements
  • Heritage Building Improvement Grant – a capital grant scheme that offered local property owners financial support to make repairs and renovations to heritage and historically important buildings
  • Hinckley Town Centre Improvements – A scheme of capital works to Hinckley town centre including wayfinding and public realm improvements. Marketing support was also provided
  • Warm Welcome – supported warm welcome spaces across the borough. The venues delivered sessions offering local residents access to support around health and wellbeing, finance, energy advice and winter warm packs
  • Food poverty - addressed food poverty and offered mental health support across the borough by building a coherent network of food and service providers
  • Employment and training support – programme to support access to work for those furthest from the workplace and the economically inactive
  • Business support activity – programmes provided business engagement activity through events and support
  • Key events – included Armed Forces 80th Anniversary of VE Day and Festival of History linked to the launch of the B1484 sculpture trail
  • Atkins Gallery – worked with the creative consortium to improve the cultural offer at the gallery
