Local employment and skills

Hinckley and Bosworth Employment and Skills Taskforce

Employment and skills is a key corporate priority for the council. We aim to maximise our residents' potential through employment and skills support, and in turn also support businesses in finding the skills and talent they need to grow.

The Employment and Skills Taskforce, chaired by the Chief Executive, has been meeting quarterly since 2017. The main aim of this partnership is to maximise the opportunities for local people to access and gain the right skills and qualifications to meet the needs of our local businesses and our key growth sectors. Partners from a range of sectors contribute, including (large and small) local businesses, local schools and academies, as well as the below organisations/partners, which are key in supporting businesses and job seekers:

  • North Warwickshire College
  • South Leicestershire College
  • Department of Work & Pensions
  • Leicester & Leicestershire Business and Skills Partnership
  • Federation of Small Businesses
  • Voluntary sector representatives

If you would like to know more about the taskforce and some key achievements since the partnership was established in 2017, please see our Hinckley and Bosworth Employment and Skills Taskforce publication
