Things to do and places to go
Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail
About the trail
On 22 August, the 540th anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, the Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail was officially unveiled, a 12-mile journey through history and countryside, linking Market Bosworth, Sutton Cheney, Fenn Lanes, and Dadlington with four striking public artworks.
A walk through the landscape becomes a journey through a story told in chapters. Each artwork is carefully rooted in its setting, playing its part in the narrative, but these pieces are more than historical markers, they are works of art designed to draw people in, reaching beyond dates and facts to explore universal themes we all share.
The walking trail links these locations, guiding visitors through fields and villages with markers at other key points that hold stories of their own. Moving from one chapter to the next is a cumulative experience: the trail doesn’t just take you from place to place, it leads you deeper into a story. Completing it brings a sense of arrival, an understanding of the landscape, a glimpse into history, and reflections on themes that still resonate in the world today.
