More about walking

Walking for fitness or pleasure

walking at Burbage Common

Hinckley & Bosworth Borough is 60% rural which means we are very fortunate to have some beautiful countryside and parks right on our doorstep! From Bagworth Woods to Hollycroft Park, Burbage Common to Bosworth Battlefield, there are many places to explore.

Walking is simple, free and suitable for people of all ages and most abilities, making it one of the easiest physical activity options. Regular walking, at a moderate pace, can also have a positive impact on your physical, mental and social health. Why not start slowly and build up, it need not take up a huge amount of your day and can easily be built into your daily routine.

The Active Together team is keen for people to explore the walking opportunities we have across the borough, such as the range of led-walk programs which are supported by a very active volunteering community. Qualified walk leaders create a safe and friendly environment for people to meet regularly, explore the borough and improve their health.
