The kerbside service
Suitable types of glass
Only glass from bottles and jars are suitable for recycling because the glass is used to make new bottles and jars. Lids need to be removed first as these are usually made from composite materials and are unable to be recycled.
All items need to be clean and loose.
All residents can take part in the fortnightly kerbside recycling collections.
All other types of glass are unsuitable
Other types of glass (Pyrex, window glass, mirrors) are unsuitable for this particular recycling. Bins with unsuitable items cannot be emptied. Bottle tops are unsuitable because they are made from a mixture of items.
