Recycling - kerbside service
Background information
The service was changed from bags and boxes to wheeled bins with inner caddies in 2012. With further changes introduced from April 2018 when the caddy was removed.
Committed recyclers are always welcome to request additional containers and similarly for households with less recycling we will swap the standard containers for smaller versions.
We appreciate that bins may not suit some homes. If you have any concerns or need to remain on the bag/box system, then please contact us to discuss your needs.
The kerbside recycling collections are carried out in house by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. The recycling collected is taken to a site in Enderby belonging to Leicestershire County Council, where the items are separated into the different types of product. Once sorted, the recycling is then loaded into vehicles and transported to the chosen reprocessing companies.
