Licensing Act 2003 - responsible authorities

About responsible authorities

Responsible authorities are defined in the Licensing Act 2003 as authorities who are able to comment on applications made under the act. They can apply for a review of a licence under certain circumstances.

Applications

If you apply online, then your application will be sent automatically to all the necessary responsible authorities.

If you are applying by using a paper form, then before you submit your application to us, please check the guidance notes or checklist on the application form you are completing. These will tell you which of the responsible authorities (listed below) you have to send a copy of your application to. The copy, or in some instances copies, should be sent on the same day as you make your application to us.
