Making a Difference community awards 2026

Until Friday 9 October, you can nominate for our annual Making a Difference awards, which celebrate volunteers who ‘make a difference’.

The hunt is on to find Hinckley and Bosworth residents who make a difference to the lives of others through volunteering. We urge residents to nominate a person or group who deserve(s) recognition for the help they give to others.

The Borough Council's Making a Difference community awards include individual and group categories as follows:

• Community champion award - individual
• Community group award - group
• Young community hero award - young person or group of young people (under 18)
• Neighbourhood pride award - individual or group

How you can nominate

Before nominating an individual or group, we ask you to:

• Read our nomination categories and criteria
• Read our privacy notice for award nominations

To nominate your volunteer(s), we require the following information:

• Who you are nominating (individual or group)
• Your nominee's name, address and telephone number
• How your nominee 'makes a difference'?
• Your name, address, and contact details
• A photograph of your nominee (optional upload)
• Additional documents such as group leaflets or testimonials (optional upload)

Nominate an individual or group

Results  

A judging panel will consider all of the nominations, and the awards will be presented at the voluntary and community sector celebration event which is taking place at Hinckley Rugby Club on Thursday 12 November 2026. All individuals nominated, and representatives from groups nominated, will be invited to attend.
