Councillor Keith Nichols, Executive Member for Culture and Leisure at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council said:

This will be a weekend of huge celebration and we hope that residents and visiting friends and relatives will join us in marking this unprecedented anniversary. There is lots to enjoy throughout the weekend, although one of the main events will be Proms in the Park so bring your deck chairs and picnics and settle down to enjoy the great musical talent, the singing and the flag waving while soaking up the atmosphere in the lovely park setting. This will then be followed by the lighting of the beacon in Argents Mead.

However, you choose to mark this occasion, may you have a safe and enjoyable time – congratulations to Her Majesty The Queen on this historic occasion.
