Hinckley celebrated St George's Day with a special programme of traditional entertainment on Saturday (22 April).

The event offered plenty of free entertainment and activities for the whole family including Morris dancing, Punch and Judy, Tom the tale teller, children’s crafts, St George on stilts, a roaming face painter plus a new play ‘Being Dora’ performed by the Red River Youth Theatre, funded by the Hinckley High Street Heritage Action Zone.

Hinckley District Scouting Association paraded through the town with representatives and flags from groups across the borough.

Events Co-ordinator for the Borough Council Cat Stilling said:

"This is the 18th year that the Borough Council, supported by the Town Centre Partnership and Hinckley BID, have organised events to celebrate St George’s Day. It is a popular annual event that offers something for all ages to experience while enjoying the town’s shops and bustling market stalls. I hope everyone who came along enjoyed celebrating our national day with us."
