The ever-popular Mallory Mile returned to the Mallory Park Circuit in Kirkby Mallory on Monday evening (5 June) as part of local celebrations for National Bike Week.

Families and community groups brought their bikes along and joined in, cycling laps of the track just for fun or to raise money for good causes.

The free annual event was organised by the Borough Council in partnership with Mallory Park Racing Circuit Real Motorsport Limited, the team running cycling at the Mallory Circuit.

Residents and visitors also had the opportunity to meet Wheels for All who were in attendance with their fantastic range of adapted bikes for anyone to try. Plus, the Choose How You Move team from Leicestershire County Council and representatives from Leicestershire Police, Places Leisure and Burbage Charity Bikes.

Deputy Leader for the Council, Councillor Mark Bools said:

It was fantastic to see so many people coming out to take their bike for a spin in such a safe and secure environment. Cycling is a great method of exercise and suitable for all ages and my thanks go to Mallory Circuit and all those involved in organising such a great evening.
